The XGN-12 Environmentally Friendly Gas-Insulated Ring Main Unit is a new, green, metal-enclosed switchgear. It utilizes environmentally friendly gases like dry air or nitrogen for insulation, resulting in little to no greenhouse gas emissions. Over 90% of materials are recyclable at the end of the product’s lifecycle, and aside from bushings, other insulation components largely avoid hard-to-degrade epoxy resins, truly achieving environmental goals. Both the circuit breaker and load switch employ vacuum arc-extinguishing technology. It features strong environmental adaptability, compact size, space savings, no need for SF6 gas detection or protection, safe and reliable operation, maintenance-free operation, and intelligent characteristics, representing the future development direction for ring main units.

Description

The XGN-12 Environmentally Friendly Gas-Insulated Ring Main Unit is designed for voltages of 3~11kV, three-phase AC 50Hz/60Hz, single busbar, and single busbar sectioning systems. It is used in industrial and civil cable ring main and distribution network terminal projects for receiving and distributing electrical energy. It is suitable for urban residential area distribution, small secondary substations, switching stations, cable branch boxes, box-type substations, industrial and mining enterprises, shopping malls, airports, subways, wind power generation, hospitals, stadiums, railways, tunnels, and other applications.

Product Features

◆ Composite Functionality, Integrated Product
The switchgear’s gas-filled enclosure is made from high-quality 2.5mm thick stainless steel plate laser-welded to ensure sealing reliability, high mechanical strength, and good corrosion resistance. The protection rating of the gas-filled enclosure reaches IP67. The gas compartment is equipped with a pressure relief membrane to effectively prevent harm to personnel and equipment in case of overpressure. Enclosing all conductive components within the gas compartment protects them from external environmental influences, improves operational reliability, enables maintenance-free (or low-maintenance) operation, and meets requirements for compact size.

The main circuit uses a combination of a three-position switch (make + isolate + earth) and a vacuum interrupter. This configuration is a mature technology well-suited to current grid operation and maintenance needs.

◆ Environmentally Friendly, Non-Polluting
The insulating medium of the XGN-12 environmentally friendly gas-enclosed ring network switchgear is zero-grade dry air or 99.99% pure N2 in accordance with GB/T 8979-2008. Gas leakage will not cause any impact on the external environment and no recovery treatment is required.

◆ Flexible, Expandable Design
The XGN-12 Environmentally Friendly Gas-Insulated Ring Main Unit features a modular design. Various modules can be combined using dedicated busbar connectors to achieve diverse unit configurations, maximizing the ability to meet the complex and varied distribution design requirements of different locations.

◆ Comprehensive Mechanical Interlocks
The operating panel of the XGN-12 Environmentally Friendly Gas-Insulated Ring Main Unit is equipped with a comprehensive five-prevention mechanical interlock system. All interlock functions are pre-configured internally. Operation is very convenient by simply following the sequence in the operating instructions.
