The GTXGN-12 Solid Insulated Ring Main Unit (RMU) is a new generation of environmentally friendly composite insulated ring main unit independently developed by our company. It is a fully sealed power supply unit, with all live components and switches encapsulated within an epoxy resin enclosure, free of SF₆ gas. The entire switchgear is immune to external environmental influences, ensuring operational reliability, personnel safety, and maintenance-free operation.

Description

The solid insulated RMU consists of three functional units:

  • V-unit (circuit breaker unit)

  • C-unit (load switch unit)

  • F-unit (combination apparatus unit)

Each unit can be used independently or flexibly expanded. The structure is divided into:

  • Intelligent control instrument compartment (configurable with microprocessor protection/controllers)

  • Operating mechanism

  • Primary circuit section

The primary circuit employs APG (Automatic Pressure Gelation) technology to fully encapsulate the disconnector and arc extinguishing chamber in epoxy resin, with dedicated connectors for busbar linkage. The arc extinguishing chamber utilizes special CuCr contact material, an R-type axial magnetic field contact structure, and complete primary encapsulation technology, significantly improving short-circuit current interruption capability, stability, electrical lifespan, temperature rise, and insulation levels compared to previous designs (e.g., CuAl contacts, cup-shaped axial magnetic field contacts, partial encapsulation).

The operating mechanism integrates a spring-operated system for both the disconnector and main switch, enabling reliable interlocking with minimal components and reduced transmission links. It offers high reliability and can be equipped with motorized operation upon request.

    A front-facing window provides clear visual confirmation of three positions: disconnector closed, disconnector open, and earth switch closed, ensuring safe maintenance.

    An internal arc pressure relief valve directs arc-induced pressure to the cable trench, protecting personnel.

  • Eco-Friendly
    Uses environmentally safe materials without SF₆ gas for insulation or arc quenching. The primary circuit minimizes connection points to ensure low energy consumption during operation.
